Where to Go / What to Do in Taxco

The Historic Center of this ancient colonial city is one of the tourist attractions you must visit; however, modernity and the need for public transportation have made it a city where it is very dangerous to walk, so we recommend traveling in some type of vehicle.

The Parroquia de Santa Prisca is one of the city's symbols and also the most representative building of Baroque and Churrigueresque style in all Latin America. You can also visit the old Casa Borda, today the venue of Palacio Municipal, the Ex-Convento de San Bernadino de Siena, the Casa de la Cultura and Plazuela de San Juan.

During the afternoon you can go up Guadalupe to admire the city and ancient public wash basins of the colonial era.

GRUTAS DE CACAHUAMILPA
Originally inhabited by Chantale Indians, the Grottos of Cacahuamilpa were the scenario of their religious rituals. Today they are part of Mexican heritage as a protected area for their great tourist value, because besides the spectacular subterranean precincts and numerous intricate walls and stalactites, the Grutas de Cacahuamilpa are the largest subterranean caverns in the world.
