Where to Go / What to Do in Valle de Bravo

Valle de Bravo is surrounded by a great mountain range that contrasts with the dimension of its artificial lake where, every year, hundreds of tourists go practice all types of water sports, such as skiing, sailing boats, kayak and fishing. It was an important tourism infrastructure that offers comfortable hotels, swimming pools, resorts, restaurants, a riding club and beautiful golf clubs.

This Magical Town is located only 65 kilometers to the east of the capital and 145 kilometers from Mexico City. It offers a calm rest perceived at its cobblestone streets and quaint houses of white facades, wrought steel balconies and red tile roofs. At the gates of its plaza you can enjoy delicious artisanal ice cream, typical snacks and other distinctive dishes of the Valley, such as rainbow trout, black bass and the amazing artichokes harvested in this area of the state.

Its popular market offers numerous art galleries, clothing boutiques and decoration articles. The San Francisco Parrish, this land's patron saint, is outstanding for its original 16th century bell tower, well deserving of a relaxed visit for enjoying its colonial beauty.

Near Valle de Bravo are Bosencheve and Monte Alto National Parks, ideal for adventure sports, such as mountain climbing, rock climbing, cycling and camping, as well as paragliding and hang gliding, extreme sports that, in the last years, have turned this town into a favorite destination for adrenaline lovers.

At an altitude of 3,000 to 4,100 meters above sea level, all vegetation disappears in the highest areas but in the lowest areas, the landscape is covered with pine and oak trees.

VALLE DE BRAVO INTERNATIONAL MUSIC AND ENVIRONMENTAL FESTIVAL
This festival strives, through many artistic expressions, to create awareness on the need to value and preserve the natural and cultural beauty of this beautiful valley. Since 2002, the Festival included, as one of its highest priorities, the preservation of this lake and has since supported projects that have significantly contributed to the preservation of the lake and forest, in addition to production programs that provide economic alternatives for profiting without affecting its ecosystem.
