Ixtapan de la Sal has excellent restaurants where you can enjoy traditional Mexican cuisine and some international specialties. However, you have to tour the narrow streets of this small city to enter one of the inns found in the houses' first floor, where an experienced cook makes tortillas and gorditas on the sidewalk and inside her kind daughters serve simple but delicious homemade meals.
