XEL HA

This magical water park, Xel Ha, is one of the biggest attractions of all Riviera Maya. It's easy to admire a great diversity of marine species by swimming and snorkeling in underground caves and natural pools. There are also a series of fun activities like swimming with dolphins, taking the ecotour, visiting the Mayan wall, and exploring the chaac swamps and Mayan "“cenotes"”.

BIOSPHERE OF THE SIAN KA'AN RESERVE

The place "“where the sky was born"” or Sian Kaan is the natural home of humanity since 1987, by the UNESCO. Its relevance resides in the impressive quantity of biological diversity it has. Until now have been counted 1,048 species of vegetation of the Golf of Mexico and the Antilles; 103 species of mammals, 339 species of birds, 90 species of native bees, 318 species of butterflies and 86 species of coral among others. Some of the animal species are in danger of extinction such as the ocelot, hocofaisan, jaguarundi, puma and jaguar.

Inside the ecological reserve of Sian Kaan, the guests can do different activities, from observing colonies of waterholes (in danger of extinction), sport fishing in Boca Paila, or Kayaking in Punta Allen.

MAYAN RUINS

Known for its white sand beaches, this archeological area is of great historic importance for our country due to the testimony of its Mayan mural paintings on some of the walls. It was one of the most important cities of the Mayan civilizations.

Its strategic position for commerce, located on the highest point of the oriental coast, and its protective wall give it a staring role. The highest tower called "“El Castillo "“(the castle), was inhabited by the time the Spanish arrived in the XVI century.

There's evidence that indicates that Tulum was an independent entity from the rest of the Mayan provinces. The residential architecture, the mural paintings, and the evidence of the temples to the gods or things the sacred things they worshiped like the god of the wind, the cenotes, and the god of descendents, are the legacy of this great civilization.

DOS OJOS

Dos Ojos (two eyes) is one of the largest cave systems in the world; for which scuba diving, swimming and snorkeling are the most popular activities on this beautiful corner of nature. Situated 13 k from Tulum, the Tulum administration offers picnic areas and equipment rental for snorkeling.
