Where to Go / What to Do in Tlaxcala

EXCONVENTO FRANCISCANO DE NUESTRA SEÑORA DE LA ASUNCIÓN
Founded in 1537 by Friar Martin de Valencia, this former convent boasts Hispanic architecture of the XVI century in Tlaxcala. The roof, worked in cedar wood, hosts the atrium and four beautiful chapels dedicated to Jesus, the Third Order, Saint Antonio and the Chapel of Virgen del Rosario.

Beautiful arches, columns of smooth shaft, baroque altarpieces and an octagonal dome soberly adorn this beautiful precinct divided into various buildings because of its abrupt orography.

Currently, it hosts the Museo Regional de Tlaxcala.

ECOTOURISM
