Where to Go / What to Do in Veracruz

At the beautiful Historic Center of the City of Veracruz, you will find all the essential elements that formed a traditional Spanish colonial city such as the zocalo or central plaza with the social life of the small villa revolving around it and often continued even after having consolidated as a great city. Placed in front of this plaza are the Catedral de la Asunción, Palacio Municipal (former Casa de Cabildo) and other valuable constructions that today host diverse buildings, shops, restaurants and offices. In addition to the largest mansions of the era's wealthy merchants, as Casa de la Inquisición and Portal de Miranda.

Also, the city's former hospice currently hosts works and documents of the city's history in the Museo de la Ciudad de Veracruz, which you have to visit if you want to know more about this important Mexican port.

The municipality of Boca del Rio has everything you need to enjoy the sun and sea of Veracruz, a great hotel and tourism infrastructure with numerous restaurants, dance clubs, bars, shopping malls and sports facilities. Additionally, the fortress and port of San Juan de Ulua offer you an unforgettable visit, the response of the locals against the constant pirate attacks of the XVI century.
