Where to Go / What to Do in Orizaba

To visit Orizaba is to visit Mexico's colonial history, its old Palacio Municipal is in an Art Nouveau architectural style and was sent in parts from Belgium, where it was designed; it is also worthwhile to visit the Catholic temples of San Miguel, Santa Gertrudis (exhibiting an authentic mural by Jose Clemente Orozco) and the Convento del Carmen in a beautiful baroque style; without forgetting Catedral de San Miguel Arcángel, city's patron saint.

The legacy of the great muralist, José Clemente Orozco, is present at the Palacio Municipal, proudly showing "“Reconstrucción"”, his most famous work.

PICO DE ORIZABA
For the lovers of extreme sports like mountain hiking or those who simply want to enjoy a beautiful natural landscape, Mexico's highest mountain is called Pico de Orizaba. With a height of 5,747 meters over sea level, Veracruz shares this mountain with the State of Puebla.

MUSEO DE ARTE DEL ESTADO
Hosted inside the San Felipe Neri chapel, this beautiful museum is home of numerous Mexican and international works of art of great artistic value.

CASCADA DE ELEFANTE y EL CAÑÓN DE RÍO BLANCO
