Where to Go / What to Do in Progreso

MALECÓN
This is the closest beach to Merida and one of the favorites for people from Yucatan that don't live in the capital. Of fine and white sand, the jetty comes to life each day for receiving the lively tourists who want to have fun under the sun framed by the blue sea and the intense marine activity; from here you can see Progreso.

FISHING
If you are a fishing aficionado or haven't discovered it yet, then go to Progreso pier to ask for a ship and a captain from fishers"…or maybe a boat and a guide, it's all the same; at the end of the day, you will return satisfied with the result of a hard day of admiring the horizon while you wait until a naïve fish decides to go home with you.
